I’m crying without making any noise (or hardly any) and that’s hard when you read something both so absolutely heartbreaking and uplifting at the same time. Love has so many forms and there was 51% love in this and 49% sorrow. I think that says a lot, given the journey you’ve had to take. But damn, your kids, your friend, your partner, even your ex and the family … what love. And love from you, sharing this, adoring the connection in your kids, having the clarity of heart to appeal to the doctor’s human side.

I learned so much about love and life in this space and I’m 47 years old. I’ve had my share. But to see this from your perspective — it makes me even more protective of my own three girls, but also appreciative — SO appreciative — of the love I often take for granted.
